About the Jonga People"The 15,000 Jonga people settled south of the Mbole (DRC) in a forest. They farm and hunt. There is little information about their artistic output. Jonga carvings were produced from a light wood and tend to be covered in red and black pigments and it is thought they represent ancestors and were employed during healing ceremonies."
