This mask was carved in the style of the Lega people of DRC. The mask features a beautiful brown colored face with attached raffia. It measures 11.25 inches tall, 19.5 inches including the raffia and weighs 5 pounds. There is a piece broken off the back of the mask – please inspect photos. Stand is not included.

About the Lega People
Lega art is exclusively focused on and associated with the Bwami society. Each object has a precise role and function within their ceremonies and rituals and is used only by the initiated. These artefacts are numerous and are created from a variety of materials, particularly wood, ivory, bone and elephant hide.
