This mask was carved in the style of the Lega people of DRC. The mask has a typical hear-shaped face and a raffia beard. It measures 18.5 inches tall, 34 inches including raffia, and weighs 2.5 pounds. There is a previous repair to the back of the mask and scuffing and wear and tear throughout. Stand not included but one can be purchased for an additional charge.

About the Lega People
Lega art is exclusively focused on and associated with the Bwami society. Each object has a precise role and function within their ceremonies and rituals and is used only by the initiated. These artefacts are numerous and are created from a variety of materials, particularly wood, ivory, bone and elephant hide.
