This statue was carved in the style of the Mbole people of DRC. The statue features a male figure in a standing position with a leather piece attached to his head. The figure measures 19 inches tall and weighs 1 pound. There is some scuffing and wear and tear throughout and the leather on top is slightly torn. Please inspect photos carefully.

About the Mbole People
The Mbole are known principally for their figures which tend to be characterized by their geometric features, elongated emaciated bodies enlarged heads with heart-shaped faces, protruding mouths and crown-like coiffures. Yellow and white pigments are usually applied to the whole statue.
