Located in the north-east part of Ivory Coast and north-west region of Ghana, the Nafana people are part of the Senufo ethnolinguistic group. Their main language is Nafaanra, although they are surrounded by many different languages in neighboring tribes. They arrived in the area they reside in now in the 17th century after the Ligbi people. They are mostly farmers and have a large celebratory Festival referred to as the Sumgbee Fiesta every year.
