Additional Information

About the Bedu Mask

The Bedu masks are commonly danced in ceremonies in Nafana society and are thought to rid the village of toxic energy and bad spirits. The dancer wearing this style of mask would cover his entire body with raffia and tie the mask to his head. You would generally only see the Bedu mask used at New Year festivities once a year.
